AERCEDES-BEN Z (Great Britain) M LTD. have announced that following an intensive drive to increase the availability of spare parts through their country-wide chain of distributors, they are to cease handling trade business at their Brentford, Middlesex, premises from November 1.

Announcing this, Mr. L. Garnham, manager of the company's spare parts division, said the move would enable the division to concentrate on its main activity—that of acting as a spare parts " bank " upon which the distributors may draw.

"We have just completed a countrywide re-organization of our distributors'

spare parts undertakings designed to ensure that they are able to give the best possible service to customers ", he continued. "This was based on a national survey taken of the usage of all our fast moving spare parts intended to augment their existing large stocks to given an even better coverage than before."

The spare parts division at Brentford was recently expanded under the guidance of specialists from Daimler-Benz in Stuttgart and now occupies an area of some 26,000 sq. ft. Mercedes say it comprises spare parts worth more than Lim., whilst a further quantity worth Lim. is held in distributors' and dealers' premises.
