THE Metropolitan Traffic Commissioner, Mr. D. I. R. Muir, on Tuesday refused an rapplication by a newcomer for an excursions and tours licence because of a tack of supporting evidence.
The applicant, Mr. R. A. Bailey (trading as Roma Luxury Coach Tours), told the Commissioner that he proposed to operate ten 14-day inclusive tours to Spain via Southampton. Docks. He sought a vehicle allowance of six vehicles.
Nine major ,objectors were listed but they were, in the event, not called upon.
Mr Muir, giving his decision, said that before he could grant a licence that would cause abstraction from existing services he would require evidence of need.
