BECAUSE of the continuing fall in the number of passengers using London Transport bus services, many country {green) bus services will be reduced and some partly, or completely, withdrawn when the new winter timetables for London's country buses come into
effect on November 4. In almost all cases where services are withdrawn they will be covered by alternative facilities. London Transport state that there are now 51,000 fewer country bus passengers travelling daily on Mondays to Fridays than there were last year (about 61 per cent), 57.000 (7 percent) fewer on Saturdays and 23,000 (about 91 per cent) fewer on Sundays.
