Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

CIF particular interest is the new vehicle carrying electric baking apparatus now being utilized by Walker, • Hunter and Co., Ltd., Port Downie Iron Works, Falkirk, which specializes in bakery equipment, although the company produces other electrical appliances.

The vehicle • is a Tilling-Stevens petrol-electric and use is made of the.

current generated by the petrol engine end dynamo to operate the baking installation, this being effected by a special 'arrangement of changeover switches whereby the dynamo supplies current through a . distributing switchboard direct to the various appliances, The equipment at present installed. on the vehicle consists of a 10.5 kw. electric baking oven, an electric dough nut cutter, which can be loaded to 6 kw., and an electric baking plate which can also take the same load. The

three can be run simultaneously if desired, as the power unit. is capable of

giving an output of 24 kw. continuously.

The chief feature of this demonstration vehicle is that it can be sent direct to the premises of the prospective cus tomer or to any pre-arranged place, where it can carry out complete demon strations of baking etc. The extreme value of being able to give actual demonstrations of this nature has been definitely proved by the company. The potential customer is given an opportunity of trying out the equipment on his own premises, which is much more satisfactory than seeing it working under Possibly different conditions at other premises.

It is believed by the makers that this demonstration equipment is unique so far as this country is concerned, and it is felt that it is far in advance of the French arrangement described in our issue for August 28th last, a further point being that the whole of the equipment is of British manufacture. 1344 Although the vehicle is at Present provided with equipment designed for bakery practice, from time to time its details will be augmented by other of the company's products, according to the nature of the demonstrations to be given, but. aft the moment, there is a heavy demand for baking machinery operated by electricity.
