West Midland LA John Mervyn Pugh has suspended his decision to revoke the licence held by Wolverhampton haulier Clifford Morgan, and disqualify him from holding or obtaining a licence for a period of 12 months, after hearing that Morgan had mistaken the date of the public inquiry.
Manager required
• Maintenance problems led to the duration of the licence held by Kim Henderson, trading as 3A Transport, of Broxburn, being cut to expire next June instead of in November 1999. Scottish LA Michael Betts also required the appointment of a new transport manager within 28 days.
Trial adjourned
• The trial of Manchester driver David McCartney, accused of falsifying tachograph records, has been adjourned until December byTrafford magistrates.
Fresh MoT
• Talywain, Pontypool-based Christopher Coleman, whose fleet has been reduced from nine vehicles to one, had his licence suspended at a Cardiff disciplinary inquiry until his remaining vehicle has passed a fresh MoT test.
