with the supercharged and turbocharged six-litre engine. The uprated engine develops 247hp (184kW) at 2,400rpm with 6081bft (825Nm) of torque at 1,50Orpm.
Its belt-driven supercharger also cuts emissions, especially from a cold start, making the vehicle doubly attractive to fire brigades, while clutch engage: ment torque is over 550Nrn, Surrey has opted to fit Allison MD3060 World Series automatic transmissions.
All seven Volvos will be fitted with water tender bodywork by Saxon Sanbec with a development of its integral crew-cab conversion. They are scheduled to enter service in the summer/autumn of 1996.
This is the second order for the FL614 from a fire brigade: the first went to Hampshire.
