• More than 65% of bus users in Passenger Transport Executive areas think their local bus services are good, according to the Transport and Road Research Laboratory. In rural areas the percentage was even higher.
But nearly 50% of the bus users in the PTEs believe that
local bus services have deteriorated since deregulation, and only about 15% of bus users think they have improved. o A national database of deregulated bus services called the Bus Registration Index is now available from the Transport and Road Research Laboratory for £250.
