• A dedicated distribution division has been formed by Leyland-based Alexandra Molyneux Haulage in a move from its traditional general haulage, container, and groupage activities. The new division, AMH Contract Services, has already won its first contract, with ICI Fibres. AMH will distribute ICI's synthetic fibres throughout the UK from a sub-depot at Doncaster.
AMH managing director John Stanway says a contract manager has been appointed at Doncaster to oversee the operation of nine trucks, 26 trailers and 10 drivers.
Stanway says dedicated dis tribution work is 'an area we want to develop'. He hopes the company's new sub-depot in Doncaster will provide a springboard in West Yorkshire. AMH Contract Services has purchased four new ERF ElOs which are liveried in ICI colours with the Alexandra Molyneux name. The new ERFs are Cummins-powered, and fitted with the Eaton 12speed twin-splitter gearboxes and Rockwell rear axles.
"We prefer to buy British and ERF offer a good product which is very competitively priced," says Stanway.
