• A Laird Rotopress refuse truck with Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council has been equipped with two independent automatic chassis lubrication systems.
• The vehicle's main chassis suspension bearings and the body's pump and drive gear (36 points in all) are served by an air-operated Interlube XGS fluid-grease system.
Another 22 points on the Zoller bin lifter are fed by a similar electrically-powered MX lubrication system.
This dual arrangement allows the bin lifter to be removed complete with its autolube system simply by disconnecting two electrical connectors. Bolton is now retrofitting nine more vehicles.
