THE NEW P1I2 on display has the 248kW (333hp) DSC11 01 charge cooled 11-litre engine. This is the first time that this engine has been offered on a chassis with the lower P cab. Previously it was available only in tractive units with the largest, double sleeper, R cab.
The P112 RC will be available in 4x2 and 6x2 tractive units plus 4x2 and 6x2 rigid variants for solo and drawbar use. Both day and sleeper cabs are available. The show model is a P112MA RC34 unit with sleeper cab. Its advantages are said to be less cost, lower height and reduced weight.
The latest version of Scania's 8.5-litre, six-cylinder direct-injection diesel engine is on show. The 1)59 02, which was launched last year, is now available with a lower output of 162kW (220hp) at 2,200rpm to 80/1269/EEC and torque of 820N m (605 lb ft) at 1,200r pm to 80/1269/EEC.
This engine will be used in both day and sleeper cab tractive units designated P92M (or MA) 4x2 RS02 and plated to 32.5 tonnes. Rigid versions will include a 4x2 drawbar/rigid (P92M 4X2 RS02), a 6x2 drawbar/rigid/tipper and a drawbar/rigid/tipper. This engine replaces the DS8 05, I56kW (210hp) engine.
The rigid on the stand is a P92M 6x4 RS. It has a 4.6m wheelbase powered by the DS9 01, 182kW (245hp) 8.5-litre engine coupled to a 10-speed splitter gearbox and day cab.
The most powerful version of the 8.5litre engine, the 205kW (275hp) DSC9 01, is featured in a P92MA 4x2 1.1C34 tractive unit which also uses the 10speed splitter gearbox, has a sleeper cab and is plated for 38-tonne operation. Representing the top of the range is an R142M 6x2 RC28 powered by the 313kW (420hp) 14-litre V8 engine which drives through a 10-speed range change gearbox. Scania's lifting trailing axle is an option fin38-tonne tri-axle tractor purchasers.
