THE OPTION of a diesel engine in the Fiat Ducat() has been available only since March. although its rival. the Peugeot Talbot Express — built at the same SEVEL an plant in Italy as the Ducato — has been offered with a diesel unit since both vehicles were launched in the UK in 1982.
Fiat Auto's light CV display consists of a sole Ducat° 1.6-ton Big Volume van fitted with the 2.5-litre 54kW (72hp) Solim indirect-injection diesel engine which has a maximum torque of 147Nni (1118 Ibti). In the 1.6-ton Vall the Solim diesel is firted with a live-speed gearbox.
A standard (RP high-roof extension provides an impressive 9.8'm load volume on the show van, which has a payload, including a crew of three, of 1.5104.
