Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

CUMMINS is exhibiting its range of' 10-litre Super E and 13 Series engines — one of the big commercial vehicle successes of the Eighties. Worldwide sales have passed the 20,000 mark over the past two years.

The engine range, with its six power ratings from 119kW to 246kW (160330hp), has shown it can match the reliability, life expectancy and performance of bigger and heavier established engines in both truck and bus applications. A key element of the engines' success, however, has been its fuel efficiency.

Chassis manufacturers offering the Cummins 10-litre range include Ford, Leyland, ERF, Bedford and Seddon Atkinson. Bus and coach manufacturers which offer it include MCW, Hestair Duple, Leyland and Mssbohrer.

In addition, Cummins is showing its 14-litre Super E Series. This offers outputs from 239kW (320hp) to 298kW (400hp). All are primarily intended for use at 38-tonnes and above.

Next year the Cummins B Series engines will go into production at the company's Darlington plant, which is currently undergoing a 1:12 million expansion programme.

The 3.9 and 5.9-litre four and sixcylinder engines, available in naturally aspirated, turbocharged and turbocharged and charge-cooled forms, take the company into the middle weight engine market for the first time in Britain.

Gross outputs for the new B Series engines range from 37 to 134kW (76 to 180hp).
