AN ABERDEEN 111,111 has been chosen as the new Scottish secretary of the Transport and General Workers Union. He is Dave Shoat, the assistant district secretary, and he will take over from Hugh Wyper next September.
Shoat, who has held the city post for three years, joined the union in Stirling in 1%5. 'Hie former bus driver took up his first full-time post as district secretary at Galashiels eight years later and moved to Aberdeen in 1981.
