Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE SCOTTISH Bus Group is taking over the coaches and scheduled services of Newtons Coaches, the Inverness-based operator of internal Scottish express services.

It takes over the Newton services between Inverness and Edinburgh, Glasgow, Ullapool and Wick on December 1 and is to operate them under Newtons' name and at times close to those operated by Newtons.

Fifteen coaches, most of them Volvo BlOMs, but also some MAN-engined Van Hon! Astron semi-doubledeckers, are being taken over by SBG, but arrangements for the future employment of Newtons' staff are being left to proprietor Morris Newton, who intends to develop in another business activity.

SBG intends to use about eight of the coaches on Newtons services and will distribute the others among • its other companies.
