DALY Transport Services, a North London-based garment distribution specialist, has added its first demountable maximum length drawbar combination To its fleet.
The Mercedes-Benz 1617, with Contar coupling and York skeletal trailer, has Ray Smith demountable equipment and purpose-built hanging garment bodywork by Freightshields of Reading.
Daly, which operates 17 other Mercedes vans and trucks, has designed the new vehicle to acconinmdate up to 20,1100 garments within its 15.2m body length.
All of its vehicles have hanging rails positioned across the body rather than longitudinally, and these plug into Load-lok rails along the sidewalls at several levels, with loading proceeding from front to rear.
