'II IL GO-AHEAD has been given for an overnight lorry park in Ipswich. Borough councillors gave an enthusiastic welcome to the plan for a park for more than lOn lorries in Portman Road. Chairman of the council's development control subcommittee Ken Wilson said last week that the scheme had been prepared after consultatim with the haulage industry. It should help to stem the stream of complaints from residents about lorries disturbing the peace.
ln addition to the lorry park, there will he lavatory and shower blocks, and a lorry wash.
