A RARE-to-the-UK Daf FAR 2500 6x2 rigid and drawbar trailer combination, designed for 32.5 Dan GTW use has met OB Transport's needs for its chemical and oil haulage operation.
The company's major customers require their drums to he carrit7x1 upright.
• Whereas a conventional articulated unit limits the number of drums carried this way to 84, the drawbar arrangement with its 8.2m and 6.7111 truck and trailer • load platforms allows 100 drums to be carried.
The Dal is rated at 24.4 tonnes.
With a near-nine tonnes kerb weight the Dalis on the
heavy side, but together with the 2.8-tonne trailer supplied by Transport Engineering of Accrington, payloads of 20.7 tonnes are possible.
