London County Council is to purchase 24 ambulances and three ambulance buses at a total estimated cost of £17,700.
The police committee of Glasgow Corporation has authorized the purchase of a tower wagon and a 1-ton lorry for the lighting department. Glasgow Education Committee has authorized the purchase of an additional bus for the conveyance of schoolchildren, at an estimated cost of £580.
The work., committee of Islington Borough Council recommends the acceptance of the tender of the Capital Meter Cc., Ltd., for the supplY of a Bedford 30-cwt. lorry.
The electrkity committee of Great Yarmouth Corporation recommends the acceptance of the tender of St. John's (Yarmouth), Motors, La., for the supply of an Austin 7 h.p. wan. The works committee of Lewisham Borough Council recommends the acceptance of the tender of Walker Bros. (Wigan), Ltd., for the supply of two containers of the canopy type for awe nith Pageiletd lorries.
Aberdare Urban District Council has approved the tramways committee's recommendation that nine buses, including seven double-deckers, be
purchased. An additional double-decker has also been tentatively decided upon.
Stockton Town Council has accepted the tender cd Messrs. C. W. Chapman and Son, Stockton, at £222, for the supply of a six-cylinder 30-cwt. vehicle, and the tender of F. Robinson (Transporters). Ltd., Stockton, tor a Morris-Coremerei-al 3-ton lo'. Whitchurah Urban District Council is to buy an ambulance for £440. Walton and weyaridge Urban District Council proposes to apply for sanction to buy a fire-engine costiog £1,400. The highways committee of Manchester Corporation requires a light petrol footpath rollet and an 8-ton oil-engitied road roller with scarifier. Tenders have to be delivered by 10 a.u.L on December 5.
At a meeting Of Leeds Transport Committee, on Monday, it was decided to invite tenders for the supply of 30 oil-engined double-deck buses. An estimate of £50,000 was given as the probable total cost. Swansea Highways Dept. invitee tenders for the supply of a 3-ton petrol-engined tipping lorry. Forms of tender, etc., may be obtained from the borough engineer, Guildhall. Swansea, and tenders have to be delivered by December 4.
Wokingham Rural District Council is in the market for a 10-cubic-yd. refuse collector sad a 750-gallon petrol-driven cesspool emptier; an allowance will be required for existing vehicles. Further particulars may be had from the engineer's office, and tenders have to be delivered by 10 a.m. on November 27.
