The Ministry of Transport returns of persons killed or injured during the week ended November 10, 1934, show that in England 98 persona were killed and 3,614 injured, whilst 25 died as a result of previous accidents. The figures tor Scotland were 13 • killed and 379 injured, and for Wales five killed and 138 injured.

The estimated cost of providing beacons for the full experiment in London is about £20,000. The initial cost will he borne by the Road Fund and the cost of any permanent works divided between the Road Fund and the local authorities in the proportion of 60 per cent. and 40 per cent. respectively. No arrangement has been made for the rest of the country yet, but the, Minister has indicated that beacons will be substantially uniform in the provinces with those of London.
