The I3oard of Trade returns for OctoLer, 1934, show that the value of commercial vehicles, cars, chassis and accessories imported amounted to £273.290, as contrasted with £239.051 in the corresponding month of last year, and £167,186 in October, 1932.
The exports of commercial vehicles show an improvement, the figure of 218 comparing with 180 a year earlier and 43 in October, 1932, the aggregate values being £54,48, £42,176 and £25,784 respectively.
The exports of commercial chassis 'were appreciably higher than those for October, 1933, the figure of 1,401 (4207,370) comparing with 859 (4113,701) for October, 1933, and 616 (79,515) for October, 1932.
Dennis Dividend Higher.
The directors of Dennis Brothers, Ltd., recommend the payment of a final dividend of is. per share (less tax), which, with the interim dividend, makes a total of is. 4d. per share in respect of the past year's trading. They have transferred £1,000 to the em
ployees' benevolent fund and the amount carried forward is slightly increased. A year ago a final dividend of 8d. per share made is. for the year.
Big Scottish Order for Leylands.
W. Alexander and Sons, Ltd.,_ the well-known Scottish bus-operating concern, which is closely associated with the Scottish Motor Traction Co., Ltd., has placed another order with Leyland Motors, Ltd., for 25 Cub vehicles and a Titan double-decker, all of them to be equipped with oil engines. The company recently placed an order for 50 oil-engined Leyland Cubs and Lions.
Albion Chassis for Bombay.
Albion Motors, Ltd., has received a repeat order from the Bombay Electric Supply and Tramways Co., Ltd., for 75 oil-engined Valkyrie chassis. The 32-seater single-deck bodies will be built in India. Gardner 4 L.W. oil engines will he fitted.
