The visit came as Cartwright revealed it would be investing £2.9m of its own money, together with a £1.9m grant from a Regional Growth Fund, on increasing its manufacturing lines and hiring new staff.
Joint MD John Cartwright (pictured right) said trailer production would hit a record high in 2013, as operators were replacing ageing equipment in greater numbers and lenders increased their appetite to finance new trailers. He said: "We've already got orders in excess of last year. It's going to be a great year."
