Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• "Our aim is to broaden our customer base." Sandy Mathieson, director of Iveco's UK light vehicle division, told at the New Daily launch. The Daily already takes 61% of the 2.5 to 7.5-tonne sector in the UK. Mathieson sees little room for further growth in sales there but believes there is room for development at 3.5 tonnes GNIV.

Through its agreement with Ford. the lightest Dailys sold in the LK are 3.5-tonners. lyeco sold 2,124 in the UK last year.

e're not setting up against the Transit", says Mathieson, who sees the new monocoque Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and VW LT as targets, as well as the LDV Convoy. "Our truck chassis-based product is attractive to the fleet user who is used to the old Mercedes Ti. Iveco has had good customer reaction to the Daily from rental customers, through the likes of TLS, Smiths and Burnt Tree."

Mathieson will also be targeting retail customers, particularly with the new Daily Leader entry model, and he has his sights on the dealer network, targeting the Iveco heavy dealers. Many of them have large territories covered with a sales hub and servicing satellites. The servicing satellites do not carry the Ford Transit and Mathieson sees room to offer the Daily.
