search for finance for the Channel Tunnel project, with an agreement on terms with the railways, a 21 billion loan from the European Investment Bank, and a £250 million bond guaranteeing the performance of the French and British consortium building the tunnel.
Eurotunnel co-chairman Alistair Morton says the project is still on schedule for an official opening due to take place on 15 May 1993.
LI The House of Lords select committee considering the Channel Tunnel Bill this week produced a report commending the scheme.
