Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Pengco, of Oxney Road, Peterborough, has supplied a Shelter-type body to the mechanical loading division of Geoffrey E. Macpherson Ltd., of Nottingham, as an alternative to a low-loader.

The Pengco demountable body has fully retractable hydraulically operated legs and can be lowered to floor level once off the vehicle.

Macpherson claims that a 16ft saving in vehicle length, giving much greater manoeuvrability in restricted areas, is achieved by using the demountable body. The company finds this system gives greater flexibility with its vehicles as they are able to take ordinary demountable bodies when the Pengco platform is not in use.

The weight of the Shelter body is about 2 tons. The cost of the body and Bedford KM is approximately £5,000 complete.
