E'ARES for all excursions and tours from the Birmingham and West Bromwich areas, with the exception of period excursions, are to be increased. This. was announced last week by Mr. W. P. James, chairman of the West Midland Traffic Commissioners, in a . reserved _decision.
He said 30 operators Made out a case for increases earlier this year, and the Commissioners told a further 22 operators that they intended to bring all fares into line. There were only two objections, both from operators who did not Wish week-end fares to be increased However, the Commissioners thought it their duty to cut out wasteful competition. The new fares will come into operation on July-i.
