Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Two foreign manufacturers are now putting their money where their mouths are and are submitting sample vehicles for examination by Freight Transport Association inspectors before delivery to customers. This supplements the normal predelivery check that every dealer is supposed to make.

DAF Trucks have joined Fiat in the FTA inspection scheme. DAF Trucks tell a dealer that they wish a vehicle held by him to be submitted for check and he selects it from his stock.

About 5 per cent of DAFs are being checked and David Moody, the Association's manager of inspection services, expects that about 200 will be scrutinised this year. He tells me that the quality is good.

How many other vehicle manufacturers will demonstrate their self-confidence by joining the scheme?
