CURRENTLY undergoing trials with local authorities is a FAV 1800 DH 4 x 4 chassis fitted with a Rolba gritting body It is equipped with a DH six cylinder diesel of 8.25 lit capi which produces 116kW (156bhp). This is coupled to a ZF five-speed constant-mesh box and transfer case. The transfer box allows for high transfer d two wheel drive, low transfer two or four wheel drive and a Engine power is divided 37/63 front to rear and a 106 third diff is optional. The DAF has a wheelbase of 3.2m (10.5ft) and a pay capability of 8/9 tonnes (7.9/8.9tons).
