A spokesman for the firm said this week: "Traffic movements will be less than Spillers' usage. Also, more jobs will be created not only in the depot but also in a container unit which possibly will be created.
"The planning consultants acting for Brain Haulage have submitted a scheme so that a large proportion of the site can be used for housing."
Included are environmental improvements and not only will there be extra trees and shrubs planted on the perimeter of the site, but also the buildings will be modernised and repaired, the firm says.
