Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE whole share capital of Pilot Works, Ltd., Bolton, has been acquired by Brornilow and Edwards, whose chairman, Lord Coleraine, has announced that Pilot Works would continue undisturbed under the present management. The Pilot range of tipping gears and industrial equipment would, he said, complement the Bromilow and Edwards range. There was no likelihood of redundancy at either works. The Pilot gear pump and Edbro swash pump could now be offered as alternatives on tipping equipment made by both companies. Altogether there were many factors that would place the products of both concerns in a stronger competitive position, especially in overseas markets. Bromilow and Edwards have three factories in Bolton and employ a total of 750, also having an associate company in the Netherlands and, another in Germany. Pilot have about 250 employees and a modern factory with ample room for expansion.

THE type of fuel injector introduced by Leyland Motors, Ltd., for their Power-Plus 0.400 diesel engine is now being fitted on all other diesel vehicles produced by the company.

SCAMMELL OFFER RADIATOR SHUTTER

AN automatic radiator shutter is now offered by Scammell Lorries, Ltd., on their Highwayman range of tractive units. The equipment is of Swedish origin and is made by The Kirby Engineering Co., Ltd., Bicester.

Opening or closing of the radiator shutter is controlled by the expansion and contraction of a wax thermostat inserted in a tapping from the cooling system.

A similar radiator Shutter fitted to a Scammell Highwayman was described in The Commercial Motor of March 17, 1961. In this case the equipment was made by Serck Radiators, Ltd., and the shutter was hydraulically operated in conjunction with an hydrostatic fan drive.
