Mr. J. Eden, a technical representative of W. P. Butterfield (Engineers), Ltd., Shipley, Yorks, was flying to the West Indies last Saturday on a sales promotion visit.

At a Scottish Sales Division dinner of the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co. (Gt. Britain), Ltd., Mr. P. F. Kavanagh, divisional manager, Scotland, received the Hazlett Shield, presented annually for divisional competition; Mr. B. M. Donohue , (Sales, Eastern Scotland) received the A. S. Bishop Award for the outstanding sales accomplishment of the past year; and the Eagle Trophy for the leading sales district was presented to Mr. T. A. Walker, manager' of the Edinburgh district.

Mr. H. H. Mullens was last week elected president of the British Electrical and Allied Manufacturers' Association. Mr. A. Lindley was elected deputy president. Mr. Mullens is chairman of A. Reyrolle and Co., Ltd., and of C. A. Parsons and Co., Ltd., and deputy chairman of the Nuclear Power Plant Co., Ltd. He was deputy president of the B.E.A.M.A. during the past year. Mr. Lindley is chairman of G.E.C., which company he joined as an engineer apprentice in 1918. Mr. J. C. Butterfield, managing director of W. P. Butterfield (Engineers), Ltd., Shipley, Yorkshire, hal been appointed to the board of W. P. Butterfield, Ltd., the parent company.

Mr. L. J. Hopkins and Mr. J. E. Moore have been elected chairman and vice-chairman respectively of the Road Transport Section of the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Jack W. Whimpenny, formerly managing director of W. H. Dorman and Co., Ltd. and W. G. Bagnal, Ltd., has joined Associated Engineering, Ltd., Leamington Spa, to take over responsibility for the expanding overseas interests of the group's engine components division.

Mr. H. S. Butterworth is to be appointed to the newly created position of sales promotion manager, Industrial Division. Castrol Industrial, Ltd., with effect from May 1. His previous post of Castro( regional sales manager for the South East of England is to be filled by Mr. John S. Hart.

lk AR. L. J. Hopkins (Rea, Ltd.) and Mr. H. Lowe (Pilkington Bros., Ltd.) were last week appointed chairman and vice-chairman, respectively, of the Merseyside and North Wales Area, T.R.T.A.

Mear (E. and C. Mear), chairman, Livestock Functional Group Committee.

In the Shropshire sub-area, Mr. G. D. James, Wrekin Roadways, Ltd., has been appointed chairman and Mr. R. Davies, Express Motor Carriers (0swestry)," Ltd., vice-chairman.
