MEGOTIATIONS for the acquisition
11 of what has been described as the oldest bus firm in Yorkshire, Messrs. R. Williamson and Son, have ended with the Yorkshire Licensing Authority's grant to East Yorkshire Motor Services, Ltd., of licences for the private operator's services in Bridlington. Messrs. Williamson had been operating in the area since 1884.
The change-over took place last Sunday, and at the hearing of the application it was stated that another application to modify the services would be submitted shortly. This, it is believed, will result in the services being operated from the E.Y.M.S. bus station at Bridlington. The inability of other applicants, Messrs. Boddy and Sons. to provide alternative termini to those previously used by Messrs. Williamson, is suggested as the reason why their application failed. The council objected to buses standing in a main road.
NEW MOBILE CRANE AND WORKS TRUCK

• range of Wrigley products manufactured by Wessex Industries (Poole), Ltd., West Street, Poole, Dorset. The tight crane (Model 210) has a maximum lift of approximately 7 ft. and its overall dimensions are: Length 6 ft. 6 ins., width 4 ft., height with jib lowered 5 ft. 8 ins., and jib raised 7 ft.
• 8 ins. The maximum clearance from the lifting hook to the jib supports is 3 ft. If required, the load can be lowered on to a boarded platform between the wheels for transport. The steel tipping truck (Model 339) has a 'payload capacity of I, ton, in a 35-cubic-ft.. body. The body is 5 ft. 3 ins, long, 3 ft. 4 ins, wide and 2 ft. deep. It is hinged at the rear and operated by a• single ram, manually actuated from the fMikarci driving position. The price of the truck is £187 with pneumatic tyres, or £194 10s. with solid tyres.
