Ma. H. 0. HALLAS, M.I.MECH.E., M.I.A,E., has resigned his position as chief engineer to Maidstone and District Motor Services, Ltd., and its associated .companies, and has taken up a new appointment as advisory engineer to Guy Motors, Ltd., of Wolverhampton. We wish him every success in his
new position.
Mn. W. F. POOLE, of W. F. Poole and Co , Ltd., Westland Row, Dublin, has been appointed president of the Society of Irish Motor Traders, Ltd. He is distributor for the whole of Eire for Dennis and Morris-Commercial vehicles. His honourable position indicates. the esteem in which he is held by his colleagues.

MAJOR E. H. B. PALMER, who was, previous to the war, well known as a transport consultant, particularly concerned with licensing problems, has been appointed political agent to Capt. Cunningham Reid, M.P. for Marylebone.
COUNCILLOR W. EDGAR HALE, J.P., chairman of the transport committee of Walsall Corporation, having to give up public service work through ill-health, COUNCILLOR BARON I. POWER has been elected chairman in his place, whilst COUNCILLOR J. WHISTON, at present Mayor of Walsall, has been appointed vice-chairman MR, J. HARMS TLEPEN, formerly editor of the Dutch commercial vehicle paper, " Bedrifsauto," was in Paris when the Germans invaded France and remained there during the whole of the occupation period. He refused to work for the enemy, and must have had a very difficult time. He has decided to take up his permanent residence in France, particularly as the Germans refused to permit the continued publication of his Dutch paper. He has already contributed some notes za " The Commercial Motor " on t he transport situation on the Continent.
