Word of mouth: recommendations from other drivers or hauliers are useful for avoiding sub-standard trainers.
Look at the website: does it seem amateurish? Are there spelling errors? This could indicate they are not as professional as they claim.
Check how much training is on offer: as a rule of thumb, an organisation offering a wide variety of courses may be investing more in its instructors. Find out about other accreditations: are they also OFSTED registered, for example? Use a road haulage-specific training organisation rather than a generic company.
