By Chris Tindall A HULL-BASED haulage company has escaped closure after it was sold to its director in a pre-pack deal.
DAS Transport (Hull) is the successor to DAS Transport (Cottingham) Hull, which appointed joint administrators from KPMG on 2 June, according to documents lodged at Companies House.
The new business currently has an operator licence application in progress with the North East Trafic Area – however, its predecessor ran 21 vehicles and 35 trailers and shared the same registered address.
Director David Shores did not respond to enquiries. However, a spokeswoman for KPMG conirms it was a prepack administration. “After some time of marketing the business for sale, it was apparent that the best return for creditors and keeping employees in employment was to sell it back to the director of the business,” she says. “It was a brief administration. We will still be fulilling our statutory duties of creditors’ reports and so on.”
