AS PART OF ITS celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Unimog, Mercedes-Benz has unveiled this concept vehicle. Inspired by the South American poison dart frog, the Unimog concept has potentially practical features such as variable diameter road wheels, which can modify the tyre wall height for extreme off-roading.
The following morning, around a hundred Unimogs travelled in convoy from the original Gaggenau, Germany, factory to the current Worth plant, where Unimogs are now built on the same line as the Econic and Zetros, to be met by a crowd of over 12,000 Mog fans. As revealed at Hannover last year, Daimler is now importing the Unimog U20 into the UK.
