• The chairman of Transfrigoroute, Graham Eames, is calling on more operators to use ATP (Approved Transportation of Perishable foodstuffs) certification plates despite the poor response to the scheme.
The plates are used in conjunction with ATP certificates and alleviate the need for drivers to always carry ATP proof.
They will be issued from the Shipowners Refrigerated Cargo Research Association in Cambridge for 210 each and will carry the same six-year validity as the certificates.
Graham Eames says the plates will save operators time and money and will be invaluable for trailer rental companies.
