• A businessman's idea to make truck seats more comfortable has won him the Enterprise 40 competition's 242,000 first prize packet.
Archie Jackman' s awardwinning business plan is for a range of suspension seats for commercial vehicles designed to reduce vibrations and improve operational safety and driver efficiency.
On 1 July Jackman will receive a 22,000 personal award from Prince Charles. Later, when he opens his seating company in Glenrothes, Fife, he will receive £15,000 "starting" capital; rent-free factory space for two years, and free accounting and financial services from Spicer and Oppenheim.
