A buffing machine for commercial vehicle tyres has been announced by Retreading Equipment that is power operated and incorporates template control, dust-extractor and diameterscanning equipment. It is claimed that use of the machine reduces the skill required of the operator and ensures that the profile is buffed accurately. The diameter scanning equipment enables the circumference of the casing to be checked during the buffing operation, which is particularly important in the case of radial tyres.
Other equipment recently introduced by the company include a pneumatic ty spreader for commercial vehict and a truck tyre leak detector. Marketed by: Retreading Equi ment Ltd, Alton, Hampshire.
