• Two appeals by F. J. and J. A. Fry and CameIford Rural District Council have been dismissed by the Secretary of State for the Environment allowing an earlier partial grant to Fry for a road service licence for a stage carriage ser ice between Tintagel and Wadebridge and grant to H. G. Kinsman and Son Ltd for a road service licence for a circular stage c age service based on Wadebridge.
Fry had sought to extend to Tuesdays a stage service c rrently operated on Fridays only etween Tintagel and Wadebridge and rgued that local residents required more th a weekly service for shopping in neigh uring places.
Kinsman disp ted that there was a demand for more than one service a week from Boscastle, T tagel and Camelford. Its own service had en sustained throughout the winter but a y additional competition would detract fr m its already marginal degree of viability.
It was conclud d in the written decision that should insman be excluded from the comma portion of route there would be no ii ssibility of day-return journeys northwa d from Wadebridge and other stops.
