• Mr Maurice Macmillan, Secretary of State for Employment, has approved proposals submitted by the Distributive Industry Training Board for a levy on employers within scope of the Board equal to 0.7 per cent of their payroll in the year ended April 5 1972. Employers whose total payroll is less than £6000 are to be exempt, and all other employers will have their payroll totals reduced by £3000 before assessment.
