• At Leeds last weekend Chris O'Reilly, Petrofina's Class F driver who was the 1969 Bramcote Champion, made the day's best score and is through to this year's Final.
An entry of 60 was an encouraging start for Sussex's first appearance in the LDoY competition the round organized at Crawley last Sunday which, though not favoured by the weather, was run off smoothly. Four protests against the method of marking out the reversing bay in test one were dismissed by the stewards and one competitor whose vehicle was carrying trade licence plates was excluded.
