"THE YEAR AHEAD will be an important one for transport," Lord Wakefield of Kendal told the Industrial Transport Association in London last week after he was re-elected president at its annual general meeting. He urged members to grasp every opportunity to advance the aims of the Association.
The ITA's annual report showed an increase of 124 members. Its examinations had been passed by 89 of 99 entrants with 72 of these passes in the graduateship examination.
Realizing the difficulties experienced by transport staff in attending day release courses the Association had asked the International Correspondence School to prepare a course for the associate membership examination as well as its present graduateship course.
A congress marking ITA's 40th anniversary is being held in Edinburgh from November 13-15.
