Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

MWO unusual dual-purpose vehicles have recently been supplied by Garner Motors, Ltd., Tyseley, Birmingham, 11, through Donald Fisher and Co., Killamarsh, near Sheffield, to Mr. E. Plant, Queen Street, Mosbro, near Sheffield. The vehicles are intended far the transport of coal and of miners, as well as for general haulage, and have as their bases, the Garner ABM-type four-cylinder 2-ton chassis with a 10-ft. wheelbase. Only a few minor modifications were necessary to, make the chassis comply with the Public Service Vehicles Regulations, and the machines were passed by the Traffic COMMiSS1.011ers.

For the transport of coal, a dropla)

sided lorry body is employed, it being 8 ft. 10 ins. long, 6 ft. 6 ins, wide, with sides 1 ft. 6 ins. high. A hinged, quickly detachable tailboard is provided, this being arranged to swing from the top or bottom edges, as desired. The hand-operated telescopic single-screw tipping gear is capable of raising the body to an angle of 45 degrees, whilst to give the requisite body Space, the gear is recessed into the back of the cab.

When passengers are carried, a safety lock is fitted, this connecting with the body runner and the chassis frame at each side. A detachable tilt, with side windows, is provided,' whilst access to the interior of the body is by means of detachable steps at the rear. The steps

are slightly recessed into the body, and a hinged floor flap—which, for coal transport and general haulage,. is lowered to give a flat floor space—is folded back and secured.

Two separate tailboards . are fitted, these being secured at the outer ends by means of pegs and chains, and at the inner ends by slippers. Grab handles are attached to the tailboards.

Detachable seats provide accommodation for 13 passengers, and there is space for another passenger in the driver's cab. We understand that the price of the vehicle is little in excess of that of ordinary tipping lorries, whilst the bodywork, with the exception of the seats, was built by Garner Motors, Ltd.
