Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Freight Movement is using TomTom Work not just to manage its fleet more effectively, but also as a tool to win more business. Established in 1998, the company operates a variety of distribution contracts with a fleet of 35 vehicles, all fitted with Link 300 tracking boxes and Go in-cab devices.

We wanted to raise our game," explains managing director Paul Hurley. "Customers expect high standards of service and the ability to consistently meet those standards is the key to both retaining contracts and winning new business. Audit trails on collections and deliveries give us more control over our fleet and provide more precise traceability."

Hurley has customised the Webfleet online fleet management software to suit operations. For example, one time-critical contract involves the overnight delivery of newspapers. Each delivery point has been geo-fenced and once the vehicle enters the area, an SMS message is sent to the customer with the precise expected time of arrival.

"Webfleet is proving to be a very useful management tool. It's enabling us to keep our customers better informed, raising customer satisfaction levels. We are also using the fact that we have this capability as a key selling point when preparing our business case to win new contracts," says Hurley.

Communication with drivers is also more efficient, reports Hurley.

"The TomTom Work touch-screen messaging and SMS solution have speeded up communication between drivers, the traffic office and our customers. For our drivers it also provides an easy-to-use navigation system to take them between points by the shortest possible route using good quality maps and clear voice instructions. As a result, we are expecting to see a reduction in overall mileage, which should reflect in reduced fuel costs."
