[Elere's a wizard idea that gets the Hawk's seal of approval. Auto Shuttle Express, based at Cranleigh, Surrey, is taking over where Motorail left off when it had to close in 1995 on British Rail's privatisation. The company collects cars from Gatwick, Heathrow and Luton airports and delivers them the next morning to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen or Inverness. It expects to be transporting 20,000 cars a year by 2001. Managing director Graham Steele had the idea six years ago when he broke down in Stirling and the AA dropped him at the airport and delivered the car to his house the next morning. So if you fancy a Scottish break this summer, but not hours of motorway driving, there's the perfect solution.
