• Environmental representations from residents have led to the refusal of an application for a new one-vehicle licence by Dairy, Ayrshire-based Kenneth McKinna, trading as McKinna Contracts.
Bid succeeds • \Vest Midland DTC Roger Seymour has granted a licence to Motor Salvage UK for the two vehicles and one trailer in possession, despite an objection from Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, following an undertaking from director Hudha Chowdhury that the vehicles would be inspected • every four weeks (CM16-22 July).
Director banned
• The licence held by \Villenhall-based LDS Transport was revoked at a Birmingham disciplinary inquiry and its managing director Brian Biddle was disqualified from holding an 0licence for two years. Last year Biddle had to pay £2,900 in fines and costs after being convicted of aiding and abetting drivers to falsify tacho charts (CM 11-17 Dec 1997).
