• A truck driver from Leeds has been charged with assault after a "road rage" incident on the AIM in North Yorkshire. A fight broke out when the driver lost his temper after being_ held up in roadworks anc then prevented from moving into an inside lane because a tanker driver from Co Durham would not give way. The artic driver jumped out of his cab and punched the tanker driver, employed by Nexus in Teesside. A spokesman for North Yorkshire police says: "There was a warm debate and the tanker driver was left with a bruised face."

The artic driver will appear before magistrates at Richmond, North Yorkshire, on 11 August.
