GET YOURS NOW • Over 140 new multilateral permits are now ready to be allocated to British hauliers following the agreement by EEC transport ministers last month to raise the annual multilateral quota by 40%.

The new permits will be valid for the rest of the year. Most will go to existing holders of bilateral and multilateral permits who have what the Department of Transport describes as "a proven good use record".

Consideration will be given to other applicants who have held bilateral permits for more than one country since June 1984 and who can demonstrate a good case for having a multilateral permit.

Applications should be sent in writing before 3 August to The Manager, International Road Freight Office, Westgate House, Westgate Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 11W. Envelopes should be marked 'EC Permit Application'.
