THE BRISTOL-based Peter Lane Group is moving into a six-acre site at Garonor UK's regional distribution centre at Portbury, Bristol, in the middle of next year.
Work starts next month on the £1 .5m development, beside the M5 at junction 19, and it will incorporate a 36,000sqft transport, warehousing and office centre. Lane's headquarters and the bases of its distribution, warehousing, abnormal load, and refrigerated transport subsidiaries will move there.
Another Lane subsidiary, Smethwick, West Midlandsbased A. Smith Transport, has been absorbed into the Peter Lane Transport business. It was taken over in 1979.
