THE Commercial Vehicle Bodybuilders and Repairers Guide 1983 (Kogan Page; £5.95) gives a national index covering more than 600 bodybuilders and repairers of commercial and passenger service vehicles.
Divided into four parts, the book begins with details on the service provided by 125 major bodybuilders indexed alphabetically, geographically and by products type. Part two does much the same for repairers while part three covers a wide range of ancillary equipment and component manufacturers and suppliers.
The final section of the book is a general index of bodybuilders and repairers listed earlier, but also indicates membership of SMMT and/or VBRA with further recognition given to Bedford approved bodybuilders, apparently the only manufacturer which could provide its own approved list this year.
However, this information might have been better included under the main headings. While I believe in covering as many options as possible on the football pools coupon, maximum permutation here just duplicates 20 pages. In all other respects it provides relevant information in a clear and concise manner which will be welcomed by psv and commercial vehicle operators alike.
